Go green! Programme

In November, 2008 the introduction of «green office» principles began in the main office of Concern Galnaftogaz. This action was preceded by the signing of the UN Declaration Go green! by the Chairman of Supervisory Board Vitaliy Antonov in July of this year and by the creation of a separate environmental protection sector in the organizational structure of the Company.

Green office is a philosophy of organization governance, which allows to decrease its negative impact on the environment by maximal saving of resources and energy and diminishing the amount of wastes. This general conception comes to the list of concrete actions, directed on the preservation of environment. The program foresees garbage sorting and waste paper collection, rational use of transport and other resources, utilization of wastes, the diminishing of the amount of used water and energy and decline of general level of contamination.

Already now Go green! programme is implemented in Concern Galnaftogaz main office and on the branches of the company, the work is conducted to implement «green office» principles in OKKO filling complexes network and in other companies which are included in Universal Investment Group holding (Insurance Company Universalna, Concern Khlibprom, Joint Stock Company The agency of economic security Efort). Within the limits of the program, the waste paper collection in the offices, the control of company vehicle, the utilization of luminescent lamps, printer cartridges, old furnitures etc are adjusted. During 8 months from the start of the program only in the main office over 2.5 tons of literary garbage were collected and delivered for recycling.

The pilot project of separate polyethylene collection is implemented in L'viv at 5 OKKO filling complexes. In July, 2009 an agreement was signed with Greenco-Kyiv concerning separate garbage collection at 4 OKKO filling complexes of Kyiv branch of Concern Galnaftogaz. We are working at the adjusting the separate waste collection at OKKO filling complexes in other regions.
